Job Title: Maintenance Worker

 

Description: The primary role of the Maintenance Worker is to oversee, execute, and report on projects assigned by management for completion.

 

Expectations: The Maintenance Worker is expected to conduct facility maintenance projects in a timely manner. Understanding these projects in relation to overall operations is vital, as well as being able to properly prioritize duties between immediacy and long-term necessity as directed by management.

 

Duties:

  • Attend morning meetings prior to start of business day

  • Ensure that work area(s) are presentable, even if project is incomplete

  • Ensure that all equipment utilized for projects are put away in their proper place at the beginning and end of each workday

  • Ensure that all project-related vehicles are cleaned of refuse and debris when vehicle is not actively being utilized for project tasks

  • Keep maintenance shed in clean, orderly, and functional condition at all times

  • Clean and sweep out maintenance shed weekly

  • Other duties as prescribed by management

Job Title: Clays Worker

 

Description: The primary role of the Clays Worker is to be responsible

 

Expectations: The Clays Worker is expected to report to and communicate with the Clays Manager about daily needs and operational efficiency. These responsibilities are but are not limited to course and machine upkeep and functionality before, during, and after the business day. Operational efficiency includes cleanliness of clays facilities, inventory of clay targets, loading machines regularly, changing batteries, and other duties as required for operational efficiency.

 

Duties:

  • Attend morning meetings prior to start of business day

  • Coordinate efforts with Clays Manager and other team members to ensure operational efficiency

  • Ensure all clays ranges are rendered operational for business the following day

  • Place ice and water on sporting clays course regularly

  • Ensure that all clays ranges are clean of shotgun hulls, clay debris, and other refuse at the start and end of each business day

  • Communicate with Clays Manager and other lead management regarding activities and operational needs

  • Other duties as prescribed by Clays Manager

Job Title: Cashier

 

Description: The primary role of the Cashier is to facilitate transactions of goods and services provided at McMiller Sports Center. Beyond sales, Cashiers serve as the first point of contact for all McMiller Sports Center patrons before they gain access to the facility and are responsible for clearly communicating safety expectations and range policies to patrons prior to their shooting experience.

 

Expectations: Since Cashiers are the first point of contact for all range patrons, Cashiers are expected to familiarize themselves with all range rules, policies, and procedures. In addition to customer services, Cashiers are expected to maintain cleanliness of the pro shop to include showroom, bathrooms, and are immediately surrounding the lodge. These duties are to be conducted before, after, and during business as necessary to provide a clean and professional environment for operations.

 

Duties:

  • Attend morning meetings prior to start of business day

  • Ensure pro shop is stocked before, during, and after operations

  • Ensure pro shop items are appropriately priced and displayed

  • Ensure that all patrons sign ‘Waiver of Liability’ before gaining range access

  • Become familiar with McMiller Sports Center’s range operations and safety procedures

  • Ensure that all areas within and around pro shop to include showroom and bathrooms

  • Ensure that communications between lodge and range personnel are functional

  • Coordinate and communicate with Chief Range Safety Officer and Sporting Clays workers any range specific matters which arise throughout the day

  • Other duties as prescribed by other lead management

Job Title: Range Safety Officer (RSO)

 

Description: The primary role of the Range Safety Officer (RSO) is to provide and oversee that safe range safety protocols are followed during live-fire iterations and elsewhere on the premises of McMiller Sports Center.

 

Expectations: The Range Safety Officer (RSO) is above all else to be a polite, conscientious, respectful, and safety-minded ambassador to McMiller Sports Center’s customers. Being a public shooting range, McMiller is a premier location for new and inexperienced shooters to begin their experience in the world of firearms. With that in mind comes the challenges of educating and instilling safe firearms and range practices into the minds of individuals who have never shot at our range before. Safety comes above all else, however, it is the duty of the RSO to correct and instruct proper range etiquette in a manner which does not insult or demean the shooter but seeks to educate them as to why such practices are important. In the event of conflict on the ranges, the RSO will notify the Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) or management representative to resolve issues with customers on the range.

 

Duties:

  • Attend morning meetings prior to start of business day

  • Become familiar with McMiller Sports Center’s range policies and procedures as covered in Employee Handbook as well as items discussed during morning meetings

  • Ensure range area is clean and presentable before each workday

  • Ensure target frames are in good repair before each workday

  • Provide an appropriate range safety brief to each customer prior to range use in accordance with McMiller Sports Center range specific range rules

  • Become familiar with range specific range rules and requirements

  • Be ambassadors of safe firearms handling procedures

  • Educate new shooters on appropriate range etiquette

  • Other duties as prescribed by CRSO and other lead management
